Summer's end...

(Images: VRMcLeod)

Over our nearly-eight years at the market in Palouse, I've photographed the University of Idaho's Arboretum more than any other subject. I love it there. This week, with summer's end palpable, I found it especially beautiful. I am a sucker for all things fleeting - their presence reminds us to cherish that which slips through our fingers, too often before it's appreciated.

With back to school and vacations coming to a close, it's a busy time of year. Here's hoping you get a chance to appreciate summer's end.

Fields of change...

 (Photos: VRMcLeod)

The fields of The Palouse mirror life, existing in a constant state of change. In the stillness, you can almost hear the fleeting seasons. Here's what I've been seeing over the past few months of summer:

Next up: Harvest! Don't miss it.
