Walk it off...

Google the "benefits of walking" and you get 226,000,000 results; the "psychological benefits of walking" - 29,800,000. That's a lot! But, beyond the physical and psychological benefits of walking lies something else, something less tangible. 

Henry David Thoreau said, "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." 

What I love most about walking the Arb (UI's Arboretum) is trying to see something different. I rarely walk the Arb in November. I guess that's because I've usually walked it a time or two in October (the big fall show) and so November slips by unnoticed. 

This year I hadn't taken many pictures in October so I thought I'd missed my chance. But what I found instead was that my missed opportunity provided a chance to see the Arb anew. I love that sometimes it's the tiniest shift in perspective that highlights something different in a photo. Here's what I saw through my lens:
