Mid-summer views on The Palouse are vibrant, the fields and skies in motion. Every direction you look yields a slightly different color story, a different perspective. I love to see the changing fields because they assure me, a die-hard-cool-weather-kind-of-gal, that the heat of summer is fleeting and it won't be long before autumn is on its way :)
The weekend's almost here, and in our part of the country it is HOT!
Cool down this Sunday with the annual Palouse Community Center Ice Cream Social! Enjoy pie, ice cream, Lion's Club burgers, live music, and a chance to catch up with friends and family. Noon-3pm in the Palouse City Park.
Canola fields on The Palouse are like finding a fortune in your cookie, cream filling in your doughnut, or just what you wished for in a neatly wrapped package. They are the summer surprise that dots our region's endlessly-beautful-rolling-green-landscape with unexpected touches of bright yellow.
Hope your summer brings lovely surprises, too. (These fields are seen from US-95 between Moscow and Lewiston.) -The Grocer's WIfe
