Favorite places...

The time to rediscover favorite places, spring beckons us to get out again and take a look around.

I never tire of UI's Arboretum and Botanical Garden because no matter the time of year, it's always beautiful.

Foot traffic there picks up considerably as the days grow warmer, but oftentimes this time of year, you feel like you have the place all to yourself ;)

I hope the weekend brings a chance for you to rediscover one of your favorite places.

It's the perfect time of year to get out and take a drive. The Palouse is warming up, greening up, and all-around pointing to spring, as you can see in this pic with a little Steptoe Butte photobomb.

Meanwhile, Palouse (our beautiful little town) is bustling and gearing up for Saturday's events!

Festivities include the annual Palouse Downtown Spring Open House, with special savings throughout downtown businesses. Stop by the market and enter to win our 'Sip of Sunshine' basket (Sun Tea Jar, Lipton Tea Mix, and don't forget the lemons!).

Also, our Palouse Chamber of Commerce is giving away a $50 Chamber Gift Certificate! Enter at the market, or at any of the Palouse downtown businesses!

Be sure and head over to the Palouse Community Center between 9 and 4 for the Palouse Spring Craft Fair, where you'll find wonderful treasures from local artisans and crafters.

In addition, The Bank Left Bistro is hosting its 6th Annual Chocolate Tasting with lunch and dinner, while The Bank Left Gallery presents "Interpretations of Light" featuring Palouse's very own Heidi Kite! Opening reception with the artist 1pm-3pm!

(Watch for cyclists on the Pullman and Colfax highways as well as on west Main Street as the WSU/UI Cycling Club's annual race will begin and end in the Palouse City Park.)

It's going to be a GREAT SATURDAY in PALOUSE!
