Savoring the mellow time...

As October winds to a close, I thought I'd share some photos from a fall drive The Grocer and I took recently. It was one of those perfect days when the air is crisp, the colors are bright, and you wish it could last just a little bit longer. Here we go:

The Irish poet William Allingham described autumn as "the mellow time," and I think that's just right. In the aftermath of the dog days of summer and before the frigid winter's chill, fall gifts us with a quiet moment of contentment (at least if you're like me and fall's your favorite ;).

Here's to savoring the "the mellow time."
