No complaints here...

While news reports out Wednesday suggested that more than one million square miles of our nation sweltered under a 'heat dome', weather on The Palouse has been, well, how shall I put it......mild

Highs in the 70s, lows in the 40s, it has been absolutely pleasant, and I feel almost guilty admitting it.

Still, the only thing you can count on with regard to any particular weather pattern around here is that it won't last long. And, even now, the winds of change are visible in the fields, where they're just beginning to sport a glint of gold (notice in the distance above).

This time of year when you can almost see the change happening in near time-lapse fashion makes you want to savor every fleeting moment.

Nothing lasts forever...not the widespread current heat wave in much of the country, nor our arbitrary reprieve from it.

So, as long as it lasts - no complaints here.

Wishing you a little reprieve, too.
