A few years ago when The Grocer and I were in Springfield, Missouri, we set out on a day trip in search of the Christ of the Ozarks statue near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We first saw the 67-foot-tall figure in the 2005 movie Elizabethtown, which quickly became one of our all-time-favorite flicks.
You see, I was obsessed with recreating the Orlando Bloom scene where his character Drew Baylor (on a cross-country trip to sprinkle his recently-deceased father's ashes at points of interest along the way) does this:
It was one of those rare moments in life where you see something from a movie and it looks exactly the way it did on the big screen. Priceless.
Visiting the real Elizabethtown, Kentucky...still on my Bucket List.
